The chronic and persistent nature of human diseases, brought on by the “carbs and the couch,” require a specific and strategic approach to training coaches, teachers, medical personnel, and other helping professionals on the evidence-based practices used in mental healthcare settings.
O.A.R.S. – The Art and Science of Uncomfortable Conversations (6 CEU’s)
This course teaches its participants the points of performance relative to the application of Motivational Interviewing and the Transtheoretical Stages of change. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of these “best practices” through a group and individual experiential environment. We ultimately want our trainees to be able to have the “uncomfortable conversations” that are necessary for change to occur in day to day interaction with their clients, athletes, and among the members of their staff.
